Bill & Linda, Thanks for the question. There are several methods of installing deck carpeting. The easiest way is to simply measure off the desired area you wish to cover and purchase outdoor style carpet. Simply place it upstairs no differently than you would an area rug. This method however can cause some aggrevation in windy weather. This depends on furniture placement as to how mush aggrevation. The other way is to glue the carpet down using a water proof adhesive. This is done by laying out the carpet to be used and taping a outline border. Remove the carpet and trial the adhesive on liberally inside the previously taped border. Following the instruction on the label wait the prescribed time and carefully start on one end and withe the carpet rolled up make certain you are square and start rolling it out. A heavy roller comes in handy about right now to make certain you have it completely ironed out. I hope this answers your question.
